2018 Catholic Charities Adopt-A-Family Program
Despite hard work that often includes holding more than one job, many New York residents do not earn enough to pay for food, shelter, and utilities. The needs of struggling families with children, the working poor, frail seniors, and other residents in our communities continue to grow. With the holidays approaching, pressure on our vulnerable neighbors is even greater. Catholic Charities alleviates that stress through our Adopt-A-Family program.
Each year we ensure that all participating individuals and families receive needed gifts during the holidays--coats, gloves, blankets and more. Throughout the year, case workers continue to assist these same people by providing job coaching, emergency financial aid to prevent evictions or utility shut-off, food from one of our food pantries, and school supplies for students; we offer whatever we can to alleviate the enormous strain our members endure.
Last year we provided holiday gifts for more than 800 families and over 4,000 individuals. This year, with more people in need turning to Catholic Charities, our goal is to provide gifts to more than 870 families.
We ask you consider joining us. The choice is yours. Adopt one family or multiple families. Family size varies from those with one member to those with as many as eight members. After you decide to adopt a family, we will send you a client form that will give a brief description of the family and their needs. We suggest that your Adopt-A-Family donations be a minimum of $75 per family member. If you cannot adopt a family this year, we ask you please consider a monetary donation that will be used to purchase gifts for our families this winter season. All donations are tax-deductible.
We appreciate your support and hope you will consider adopting a family or providing a monetary gift this year. To learn more about this program please contact, Lakisha Morris at Lakisha.email@example.com or call her at 646-794-2436. Or, visit our website Catholic Charities Adopt-A-Family
