2017 Junior Board Midnight Run (Feed the Homeless)
The Midnight Run doesn't happen at midnight and doesn't involve running, but it does help New Yorkers in need. Volunteers help organize, assemble, and distribute food, to homeless people throughout New York City. Junior Board Volunteers purchase and gather the supplies, split into teams and walk through the streets handing lunch bags with sandwiches and juice. The packaging will take place at our main office and the distribution of items will take place in the area surrounding Penn Station - 34th Street to 20th Street on the West Side. Volunteers will meet at 1011 First Avenue at 7:00 then will walk through New York City delivering food. Volunteers will be expected to purchase one food item (could be jelly, bread, juice, snacks, etc). Volunteers should expect to walk many blocks throughout Midtown rain or shine.
