Alianza: Restoring Hallway Art at the High School for Media and Communications
Please help us with your artistic skills!
We are looking for volunteers to work with a group of students through their art class -- volunteers will help restore three murals in the hallways of the High School for Media and Communications (George Washington Educational Campus -- 549 Audubon Avenue, New York) (right off the 1 line at 191 St. subway stop).
Carefully applying a new coat of paint to the murals will be the biggest task.
Catholic Charities is the school’s non-profit partner charged with increasing school and individual student attendance, increasing parental involvement, expanding mental health services and fostering a safe, supportive and inviting school environment.
Most of the students at the school are immigrants or the children of immigrants and the overwhelming majority qualify for free or reduced lunch.
