Case Management: Helpline Assistant
We are looking for kind, warm-hearted volunteers to help check in with individuals who are feeling a bit lonely.
Catholic Charities Community Services runs a telephone Helpline that is one of the incoming portals of entry for clients seeking assistance.
We frequently encounter individuals who really want someone to talk to on a regular basis or would like someone check in with them, just to say hello, or to maintain a friendly connection. We would like to develop a “warm line” for people who want that kind of connection.
We are looking for volunteers to:
- Call clients who have signed up for the "warm line".
- Strengthen our Helpline by answering calls.
- Cover the front desk.
- Help us to develop and maintain robust resources.
Volunteer Commitment: 3-6 months
Skills: Spanish Bilingual is preferred but not required.
Our offices are located in Midtown East, Manhattan.
Age Minimum (with Adult): 21+, Minimum Age:21+
