2020 Maria Droste Counseling Services: Grant Writer (Remote - Anywhere!)

Maria Droste Counseling Services exists because we believe everyone deserves access to affordable and compassionate psychotherapy and counseling.

A good grant writer is a necessity for any organization, and we are looking for someone with grant writing skills to lend them to a counseling center with a great mission!
This grant writer volunteer could work from their home and communicate with the Executive Director via telephone or Skype.

We are located in Midtown Manhattan/Murray Hill on Madison and 33rd. We are accessible by most major subways (1/2/3/6/D/F/B/M) and buses!

Volunteer positions require the following qualifications:

  • A commitment to and understanding of MDCS’ mission
  • Personal warmth and hospitality
  • Personal integrity and credibility
  • Prior experience in the area you would like to volunteer

Maria Droste Counseling Services is an affiliate of the Catholic Charities Federation of Agencies. We are a community of caring professionals who are committed to affirming and respecting all people. Our mission is to provide affordable psychotherapy and counseling to those who are experiencing difficulties at home, at work, in school, or in relationships. We also provide training, development, and supervision in a supportive peer environment.
Maria Droste Counseling Services has provided thousands of clients from the New York metropolitan area with excellent and affordable mental health care. The agency was founded on the belief that clinicians fortunate enough to have the resources to earn professional credentials would welcome the opportunity to give something back to the community. This dream keeps being realized – the agency began with two volunteers in a tiny walk-up office on 23rd Street. Now over twenty volunteer staff work in a 10-office suite on Madison Avenue. These volunteers come to the agency through current or past volunteers, various professional networks of social workers, psychologists and mental health counselors. Many of the professional staff of volunteer therapists maintain full-time positions outside the agency and several maintain private practices. Each year, one or two graduate students from Fordham University’s School of Social Work are accepted into a one-year internship program. Interns are offered a professional experience, ongoing training, and individual and group supervision.
