Asylum Application Assistance (Virtual)
We need volunteers for our Immigration Court Helpdesk REMOTE Self Help Workshop.
Every month we assist a group of unrepresented respondents in completing their asylum applications, which we will then submit to the government on their behalf. You just need a computer with Adobe and a cell phone.
Volunteers are needed for two to three hours on the week of November 2 and maybe half to one hour of the following week (November 9). This is based on the participant and your schedule, so the day and time are flexible. You will help a participant in preparing the asylum application. It takes about 2 hours to complete the form but might be more, depending on the participant’s case. As you work, the attorney who will be reviewing your case may send you some additional questions to follow up with the participant.
If you are interested and available, please click here to watch our “How to prepare an asylum” webinar
*Spanish speakers are welcome! We will confirm with every participant 48 hrs. in advance.
Age Minimum (with Adult): 18+, Minimum Age:18+
