What You'll Do

Day Laborers are men and women looking for employment in open-air markets by the side of the road, at busy intersections, in front of home improvement stores, and in other public areas.
Due to the informal nature of day labor market, day laborers are vulnerable to many threats on the job workplace injuries, exposure to dangerous or toxic workplace conditions, harassment from employers and law enforcement authorities, unregulated work hours, lack of access to legal and other support services and rampant wage theft.
How does the Day Laborer Program help?
Day Laborer Program helps day laborer men and women earn a living, contribute to society and become a part of their communities. We provide educational workshops, leadership training, and opportunities for economic empowerment.
We are Outreach for the whole spectrum of services that Catholic Charities South Bronx has for the community, Food Pantry, Immigration and Legal Services, etc.
Also, we are advocates for labor and human rights. We partner with City officials, Government Agencies and ONG’s that share the pursuit of the wellbeing of the Bronx Community.
