Verbal Transcriber: Guild for the Blind
Volunteers are needed to make print materials accessible to visually impaired students taking high school equivalency and college prep classes by making voice recordings on a digital recorder. Materials may occasionally include graphics as well as text. Guidance will be given on how to verbally describe graphics (e.g. charts, graphs, political cartoons, etc.). Equipment will be provided.

Skills needed:
- Native English speaker with a clear, resonant voice and good diction
- Ability to read a variety of academic materials at the high school and college levels
- Meticulous attention to detail
- 2-3 hours per week: Tuesdays, 3 – 5 pm/2 – 5 pm
- Length of commitment: 3-6 months, longer preferred
