Opportunity Details

ESOL Instructor

One volunteer is needed to teach an intermediate English conversation class on site to a group of blind and visually impaired adult students to supplement their regular classes. Orientation to working with individuals with vision impairments and adapting materials into accessible formats will be provided. The volunteer will create and implement lessons, maintain student attendance and progress records, and submit documents as requested by the academic supervisor. 

Skills needed:
•	Master’s degree in TESOL or related field 
•	Prior teaching experience with proven record of success
•	Ability to develop and implement lessons appropriate for target population
•	Prior experience in working with blind and visually impaired individuals helpful
•	Patience, flexibility, and a heart for working with individuals with disabilities
•	Accurate recordkeeping 

Commitment:
•	2 hours per week: Mondays 11 am – 1 pm
•	6 months, longer preferred
