Deliver Lunch to Homebound Seniors
Since its genesis in 1977, Encore Community Services has grown from a support program for the frail elderly to a multi-purpose agency that provides an array of services to elderly persons in need. It provides the hungry with onsite meals. It delivers meals to shut-ins. It offers social services. It provides health and recreational support programs. And it sponsors two housing facilities for homeless elderly with special needs and low-income elderly persons.
Volunteers will delivering to homebound seniors who have a difficult time leaving their homes due to physical, mental, and/or other ailments. All deliveries are walking distance so no car is required. Volunteers will be paired and will be given a walking route sheet with about 16-20 seniors. Staff will give you an orientation prior to the food delivery.
What to Wear and Bring with You:
Comfortable shoes, weather-appropriate clothing.
*This project is not suitable for those under the age of thirteen.
