Help Heal with the Power of Music
In April 2012, a documentary about the Music and Memory program, Alive Inside: A Story of Music and Memory, was previewed at the Rubin Museum of Art in New York City. A video clip of Henry, one of the residents reawakened by listening to his Cab Calloway favorites, went viral.
We urge you to take a look at this video to see the power of music therapy.
We are looking for volunteers to participate in this new and amazing music therapy program for Catholic Guardian Services.
A. Interview family members/advocates of client to learn clients' music preference. (You will be provided with a questionnaire). As a supplement to the interviews, volunteers will also conduct their own research based on the families' suggestions. An ideal volunteer would be compassionate, a great communicator (Listening and Responding), and sensitive to the populations we serve.
