2. Who do I contact to get help using the  http://www.catholiccharitiesny.org/volunteer Web site?
If you have questions or need more help using this Web site, please e-mail our Volunteer Services team at ccvolunteer@archny.org

3. I'm having problems signing up for opportunities.
Make sure that you're logged in and have attended an orientation. If you have attended orientation, are logged in, and are still having problems, contact our Volunteer Services Department at at ccvolunteer@archny.org

4. How do I remove myself from a project I can no longer attend?

Thanks for letting us know. By dropping out in our system as soon as you know, you'll leave space for another volunteer to step in. Log in to your account, click on "My Account" and then scroll down to "Upcoming Opportunities" and click on "Remove Me" next to the project you can't attend. If it's the day of the project, you may also want to e-mail your Volunteer Leader so they know not to expect you. (Replying directly to the reminder e-mail won't work -- look for your Volunteer Leader's contact information in the body of the e-mail.)

5. What kinds of projects does Catholic Charities offer?
We offer volunteer opportunities throughout the Hudson Valley area, Manhattan, Bronx  and Staten Island, all ranging from one-time projects to those requiring a more significant commitment. Browse these opportunities now.

6. What do I do to become a volunteer?
You can search for opportunities at any time.  However, in order to sign up for an opportunity, you must attend an orientation first.

7. How do I sign up for opportunities?
Once you have attended an orientation, visit our Search Projects page and sign up online.

8. How much time do I have to commit?
That will be up to you. Our goal is to make volunteering accessible to everyone and to fit everyone’s schedule.

9. I know I want to help, but I don't know what type of volunteer work I want to do.
The Volunteer Services Director will work with you to figure this out.  You can learn more at the orientation.

10. Whom should I contact if I have questions about an opportunity?
Your Volunteer Leader can answer most questions. When you sign up, you will receive an automatic e-mail with the Volunteer Leader's contact information.

11. Can I bring other people with me to a project?
No. All volunteers must have attended an orientation and must register individually for each project they wish to attend.

12.
What are the expectations of me as a volunteer?
12. Catholic Charities supports best practices standards necessary in maintaining its volunteer program. Please download our volunteer manual to review expectations. This is only available to registered users.

13. What if I have an idea for a new project?
13. Let us know! We're always looking for new projects and people to lead them. E-mail us at ccvolunteer@archny.org

14. How do I get proof that I volunteered?
If you log in to your account and click on My Account you will see your total hours volunteered listed in the upper right hand corner.  Or you may request a written document from the Volunteer Services team.

15.  I am under 18, can I volunteer?

Anyone under 18 will need to volunteer with their parent or guardian. You'll need to bring a signed minor consent form to each project.

For those 15 - 17, you can still create an account and sign yourself up for projects you'd like to attend.

16. Why do I need an orientation?
At the orientation, volunteers will learn more about Catholic Charities NY, it’s programs and the benefits of volunteering with Catholic Charities. All new volunteers are required to attend an orientation.
