2026 Mercy Center Youth After School Program Support

Who We Are
Mercy Center creates opportunities for women, men and families in the South Bronx to grow and thrive through education, family, civic, social and economic programs. We are looking for volunteer support fall after school programming!
We offer the children of Mercy Center families a safe space where each child is encouraged to grow academically, socially and creatively. With caring, responsible adults and engaging activities, we connect each child to his/her school, family and community. We provide homework help and educational opportunities that foster creative ways to learn and have fun! In addition, we offer enrichment activities such as robotics, dance, arts and crafts, games and separate boys and girls groups.
Volunteer Responsibilities
- Help the Youth counselor with programming
- Assist the children with activities and homework help
- Ensure children are safe at all times
Qualifications & Skills
- Being patient
- Speak English (bilingual Spanish/English fluency encouraged!)
- MUST clear a background check
- MUST undergo screening process with Mercy Center team
Schedule:
Mon-Thurs 3:30 - 5:30 PM
*Volunteers can create schedule upon approval to participate in the program.
