What is New York Catholic Youth Day?
New York Catholic Youth Day (NYCYD) is an annual event that gathers hundreds of teens for a day filled with inspirational talks, lively music, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, Mass with Cardinal Dolan, service opportunities and time for the teens to get to know each other.
This year's theme Speak Up! was inspired by the scripture " I believed, therefore I spoke." 2 Cor. 4:13. We’re calling teens to speak up both in conversation with God and in the face of injustice. Whether its anxiety, depression, bullying, drugs, or any other challenge – we want them to know of God’s love that helps give them the courage, confidence, and commitment they need.
New York Catholic Youth Day is hosted by the Office of Youth Ministry, part of the Archdiocese of New York’s Department of Youth Faith Formation. NYCYD can only happen with the help our volunteers who are crucial to making the day run smoothly for our teens. We need volunteers setting up the day before the event and throughout the day of the event.
Age Minimum (with Adult): 19+, Minimum Age:19+
