Opportunity Details

Immigration Court Helpdesk (ICH) Screeners: Remote

We need volunteers for our Immigration Court Helpdesk REMOTE Individual Information Sessions (IIS). Throughout the month, we offer IIS to unrepresented individuals in non-detained court proceedings. The goal of the individual information session is to help individuals understand their legal situations and provide additional information about possible forms of relief or immigration court procedures.

Your role as a volunteer is to fill out an intake form during a phone or video call with the participant. It takes about 1 hour to complete the form but might be more, depending on the participant’s case. After the form is completed, the attorney assigned for the day will call the client back to provide the information about possible forms of relief. You just need a computer and a quiet place to make the phone call. You will be expected to sign up for the day and assist 4 participants.

We will confirm with every participant 48 hrs. in advance.
