2025 Encore Community Services Meal Delivery
Who We Are:
Join Encore Community services in delivering fresh hot meals to New York City's critically vulnerable: older adults, those with physical challenges, and our veterans. Encore Community Services delivers meals to homebound older adults five days a week, in an area that extends from 14th Street to 110th Street on the West Side.
As a volunteer, you will:
- Get a delivery route and delivery team of 2-3 other volunteers
- Bring prepackaged meals to homebound older adults either by Encore-sponsored vehicle (rideshare service) or on foot
- Greet older adults and conduct a brief wellness questionnaire
Qualifications and Skills:
- All volunteers must dress for the weather of the day and wear comfortable, closed-toed walking shoes. We deliver rain or shine!
- Be able to walk up flights of stairs or carry cold packs upwards of 10+ lbs
- Be able to be a friendly face and listening ear to all clients you interact with on the route
- When all deliveries are complete, we ask our volunteers to come back to the Center to return equipment and let us know how it went.
