Who We Are
Catholic Charities Community Services' Tenant Education & Budgeting Program is a fantastic resource for those looking for support in feeling financially empowered and informed. The ability to manage your household budget helps keep families safely housed and cared for. Trained volunteers provide group instruction to help avoid a future financial crisis and work toward an independent financial future.
Volunteer Responsibilities
We are seeking an individual with financial expertise to lead virtual financial literacy workshops. These are conducted workshops for clients that provide learning tools and resources with hopes of bettering their financial situations.
All volunteers will undergo one-on-one training with a member of the Tenant Education department at Catholic Charities.
Qualifications & Skills
- A financial background is required-knowledge of budgeting, personal money management, etc.
- Comfort using digital platforms to facilitate course (Zoom and Microsoft Suite, for example)
- Access to a tablet or laptop and WiFi
- A knowledge of NYC resources helpful but not required
Schedule
Spanish Budgeting Facilitator
1st and 3rd Thursday of the month, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
English Budgeting Facilitator
2 Tuesday mornings a month, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
2 Wednesday Evenings a month, 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM
