Who We Are
Housing Support Services provides help and creates hope by accompanying our neighbors, providing community engagement and comprehensive case management services with compassion, to the residents of Catholic Charities-affiliated housing developments, accompanying them in their daily lives and not only during times of crisis, helping them to alleviate burdens and remove barriers, so they can create a better future for themselves and their communities.
Housing Support Services at Betances services the residents of the Betances Community through a variety of social services. The residents are of low income and we're there to help meet their presenting needs.
Volunteer Responsibilities
- Organize tables by item type for distribution
- Assist with bagging food
- Support food distribution
- Set up and breakdown boxes before, during, and at the conclusion of distribution
Qualifications and Skills
- This opportunity will happen outdoors; please dress accordingly
- Standing for long periods of time
- Lifting boxes and passing out produce
- Friendly and helpful demeanor
Schedule
- 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM Pantry Prep: Receive food delivery, prepare tables for easy flow, and bag up portions of food
- 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM Active Food Distribution
