Senior Companion: Henry Street Settlement
Senior Companions should be at least 55 years old and able to use mass transit. Companions volunteer between 15 and 40 hours weekly to provide companionship, friendly visiting, and caregiver respite to frail or homebound seniors.
Companions participate in training sessions tailored to the needs and interests of older adults. They will also serve regular hours with their seniors between 9am and 5pm Monday- Friday and may be eligible for an hourly, tax-free stipend.
Volunteers are required to attend an orientation and go through a background check with The Henry Street Settlement.
